Renewable Energy

We provide independent advice on all aspects of sustainability and renewable energy, from new installations and refurbishments, to trouble shooting existing systems. Our expertise covers a broad range of renewable technologies from wind power, hydro, solar and biomass installations from domestic, commercial to community scale projects.

We have experience in providing design advice for new installations, from baseline studies to the practicalities of design and installation. We can provide advice on energy efficiency, management and optimisation, planning and financial aspects taking into account available support from public funds and reductions against existing fuel costs.

Having determined the best way forward d3a can then manage the procurement process and contract administration to help ensure the installed systems meet your expectations.

feasibility studies

We provide independent advice on all aspects of sustainable energy, from trouble shooting existing systems to new installations and refurbishments. Our expertise covers a broad range of renewable technologies from heat pumps, hydro, solar to biomass installations and from commercial to community scale projects
The aim of a feasibility study is to objectively assess the viability of a project, to consider the strengths and weaknesses of the proposal to allow informed decisions to be made. These are often supported by an outline business case setting out the financial implications

business case development

A business case documents the justification for the undertaking of a project, based on the estimated capital cost of project and the anticipated benefits to be gained. For renewable projects this will include indicative capital costs of plant and installation, and a financial assessment based on the off-set fuel costs and income from government subsidies such as the Renewable Heat Incentive or Feed in Tariff or Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs); outputs may include Net Present Value (NPV) calculations and sensitivity analyses of key parameters.

design and specification

We can offer a full range of design and project management services to assist in assessing the viability of developing a renewable energy scheme. The initial stages often include assessing the energy load of the buildings or energy generating capacity, defining the appropriate size of installations in terms of efficiency and performance to meet current and future demands, providing outline design options, and preliminary schematics of system layout.

We can provide outline advice on planning and other regulatory consents that may be required and undertaken initial consultation with the Local Planning Authority. We can assess the potential options for funding; financing and delivery of the scheme and provide support and advice throughout the procurement and installation and commissioning process
