Architectural Assistant / Technician

d3associates is small multidisciplinary architectural practice based in Hexham, Northumberland. Established for over 10 years, we are continuing to grow and win new business, delivering schemes within the residential, community and school sectors with an emphasis on sustainable, contemporary design. We are now looking to strengthen our team and a new position has arisen for an Architectural Assistant / Technician to join the practice on a permanent basis, offering the chance to work within an experienced team on a wide range of projects from design through to completion.


the candidate
We are looking for a Part II Architect / Technician with design flair, a focus on high quality detail and good interpersonal skills. The candidate would ideally be interested in sustainable contemporary design, but with a good understanding of traditional construction methods for extensions, conversions and new build projects. The role will involve developing responsibility for projects from design to completion, and communication with clients. Strong technical knowledge is required. The practice has a varied project portfolio current project types typically include farmhouse conversions and new build houses, work on listed and historic buildings, schools, and community buildings.


skills and experience
RIBA Part II qualified (Architectural Assistant Role) | A minimum of 5 years practice experience (Architectural Technician) | Good knowledge of UK Planning and Building Regs | Good communication skills | Strong design skills, technical detailing abilities, presentation skills and attention to detail | Experience in delivering projects across all RIBA stages | Ability to self-manage time and workload | Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit | Full UK driving licence and own transport.
