Hummersknott Academy was extensively remodelled and extended 4 years ago. The school kitchen was not upgraded at this time and required refurbishing and new catering equipment.
d3a were appointed as Project Managers and CDM Co-ordinators to organise the kitchen alterations and manage the installation of the new catering equipment. The existing equipment was stripped out in the first week of the school holidays, leaving 5 weeks to carry out building works and kitchen installation.
Further office and classroom alterations were added to the contract part of the way through the holidays. Material deliveries and work have had to be scheduled to ensure that work was completed prior to students returning in September.
Works were completed to ensure that the kitchen reopened ready for the start of the new school term.
