d3a were appointed by Burnhope Community Association to carry out a needs assessment in Burnhope County Durham. We worked with the local community and parish council to look at what services and facilities the community needs in the future and how these might be delivered.
d3a carried out an extensive consultation exercise to gauge the opinions of residents, school children, local stakeholders and service providers. This included an audit of current venues where services are being delivered.. The results of the survey found that top of the list of community needs is a new community centre, but locals were also keen to see improved facilities for young people and better public transport across the board.
The Community Association has been provided with a report and action plan setting out a range of project ideas to take forward.
