d3associates were invited by Hexham Priory Special Education Needs School to put forward proposals to design and manage potential building alterations to accommodate the changes to the current age range of pupils.
The proposed works included the design of two contemporary glass canopies 6.5 m in length and 2.7m deep to provide a covered shelter for outdoor play and activities.
d3associates worked closely with the staff to develop the design and sought quotations from specialist manufacturers for the installation. Once the costs were established and agreed, planning permission was sought and the construction work managed on site. Other works included alterations to the soft play areas and the installation of low level fencing.
d3associates liaised closely with the school throughout the process to understand their requirements and achieve a well crafted design. The projects was delivered to timescale and within budget and well received by the staff and children.
