REFURBISHMENTS AND ALTERATIONS

SELE FIRST SCHOOL, HEXHAM

BACKGROUND

The Sele First School is a listed building in Hexham, located close to the Abbey and the surrounding Sele parkland.

d3associates were appointed to design and project manage several projects; some of which were to be carried out within the school holidays and others to be completed within term time.

The initial works were to fully refurbish 3 classrooms and to carry out roof repairs and remedial works to a corridor. Following the successful completion of these works; d3associates organised the installation of bespoke playground equipment and security fencing together with the refurbishment of toilets to provide an accessible toilet. The Historic Buildings Officer needed to be consulted and Listed Building Consent obtained prior to works commencing.

d3associates carried out building surveying, design, prepared specifications and obtained tenders from contractors, project managing the works and ensuring everything was completed on time and within budget.

OUTCOME

d3a liaised with the school throughout the process. The projects were delivered to timescale and within budget. The toilet alterations were completed during term time with no disruption to teaching.
